John R McConnochie has been an accomplished international artist and art tutor for forty years. He has held a tutoring studio since 1982, and held seminars and Workshops constantly through those years, from studio practice in various Colleges of Art, TAFE colleges, Art Societies, art groups and Community centres on the East coast of Australia. He has been exhibiting internationally for over 30 years.
John was awarded the Mosman Art Prize in 1986 and has held over 15 solo exhibitions and numerous mixed shows.
He has completed numerous commissions for clients such as The National Bank of Australia, Security Pacific Bank in Los Angeles, USA, Cathay Pacific, and Far Pavilions, among others, as well as a variety of private clients.
Nowadays, he brings disparate images together; however dramatic or poignant they may be, they remain a vehicle for abstract principles, not to support a particular narrative. During the last five years, his work has been included in International Exhibitions in the USA, Spain, Italy, Argentina and Russia.
